Yes, the blog is called, “Plain Text.”

All of my hopes and dreams of being a Disney Imagineer/Theme Park Designer were dashed upon the rocks during the spring of 1994. Well, not a rock, but an Apple IIe? I’d been so excited to take the 8th grade computer lit and programming class, but I was absolutely terrified of messing things up. I didn’t know that you were SUPPOSED to mess things up and then try again and learn from those mistakes; that particular instructor wasn’t the best at those sorts of instructions. BASIC line-plotting was supposed to be FUN, dangit!

ANYWAY.

All of that is to say I have to start from a place of simplicity and then learn to build/add on as I go. I think that “Plain Text” sums up my best starting points, and I hope to grow and learn more from writing, publishing and actually PUTTING something down. Somewhere. Not lost in the drafts of email accounts with long-forgotten passwords. Or names, for that matter.

So, here. Plain Text. (And a vector image that looked so like me that it’s slightly uncanny?)

Who knows? Maybe I’ll learn how to code enough to embed links and such. Well, I’ll learn all of that, after I master this Babbage punch-card system to tell Ms. Doubet that, in another timeline, I made some badass Jurassic Park animatronics.
